In the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25, Harshit Rana made his India Test debut against Australia, but he was not included in the 18-men Test squad against England Tests. Instead, he was picked in India A’s tour of England.
Fast bowler Harshit Rana said to stay back in the United Kingdom and might get included in the senior squad for the upcoming five-match Test series against England, which will start on 20th June 2025.
Based on media report, unlike other India A players, Harshit Rana will not leave the United Kingdom on 17th June. However, the tall-burly pacer played only the first unofficial Test against England Lions. Rana has taken just one wicket of Josh Hull.

For the present, the Indian squad, who were playing the intra-squad match in Beckenham, will travel to London for the first Test which will played at Headingly and will start on 17th June 2025 and start their training a day after.
India players performance in intra-squad match
With sparkling hundreds Shardul Thakur and Sarfaraz Khan highlighted in the intra-squad matches. After his 90-plus score against England Lions, Sarfaraz be on fire his way with a 76-ball hundred, before Thakur scored an unbeaten 122 as match was ended in just two and half days.
Apart from Shardul Thakur and Sarfaraz Khan, new skipper Shubman Gill and KL Rahul also made fifties on the first day of the match. On the bowling side, Shardul Thakur, Prasidh Krishna and Mohammed Siraj were taken wickets while Jasprit Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh went wicketless.
Update on Gautam Gambhir return to England
India head coach Gautam Gambhir returning to England status is still unknown. Last week on an emergency basis Gambhir had to rush back to India due to his mother suffered a heart attack. Even if, it is expected for Gautam Gambhir to return back to England before the first Test, only depends on how fast Gambhir’s mother recovers. Gambhir’s mother is currently in ICU at a New Delhi hospital.
