Harshit Rana, who was playing for the India A squad, will be staying back in England.For Test matches against England, the intra-squad match may have been a pre-cursor, with the match in Kent seen largely as a practice for the Shubman Gill-led senior Indian team. Though, for the India A players, it presented another chance to prove their value and likely even force a last-minute change.
According to a report in Revsportz Harshit Rana, who was member of the India A squad, will be waiting in England and will hence he will not back to India on 17th June along with players of India ‘A’ team. As per report Rana’s case is different while many Indian players have been getting offers from many County teams in England. Even if, it did not clarify yet whether the development showed that he would be added in the Indian squad for the Test series.

In the India A match, Harshit Rana played just one India A match, where he scored 16 runs and picked one wicket for 99 runs. His intra-squad match performance is still not known as the match was not played behind closed doors, with no media or fans. After splendid show for Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2024, Harshit Rana broke into the Indian team, when current India head coach Gautam Gambhir served as the Kolkata Knight Riders’s mentor. Having affected the former India cricketer, Rana got a national call-up and eventually made his debut in the tour of Australia in Perth. He picked four wickets in two Test matches in the series.
Rana was however, missed for the series in England, as the BCCI selectors favoured Mohammed Siraj, Akash Deep, Arshdeep Singh and Prasidh Krishna to go with Jasprit Bumrah in the pace department.
