The young opener, Yashasvi Jaiswal’s excellent 175 against West Indies showcased majority, featuring 22 boundaries. Jaiswal, who achieve five 150+ scores before age 24 is now among the youngest to achieve this feat. He shared a light-hearted moment with Brian Lara. Yashasvi Jaiswal highlighted his team-first approach, focusing to convert start into big scores and commending partnerships for maintaining pressure.

In the India’s first innings of the second Test against West Indies at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Yashasvi Jaiswal scored a sparkling 175 off 258 balls. The 23-year-old left-hander’s innings was a display of composure and maturity which putting Jaiswal alongside Graeme Smith as one of the youngest to score 150+ runs five times in Test cricket before becoming 24 years old.

After completing the match,Yashasvi Jaiswal shared a heartwarming moment with West Indies star Brian Lara near the boundary line. Brian Lara, jokingly pleading with the young batter, told, “Don’t beat our bowlers that bad,” on which Jaiswal replied respectfully that he was just “trying.”

BCCI shared a video in which, Jaiswal reflected on his approach during the innings, telling, “I always put the team first, how I can play for my team and what is important for my team at that moment. This then gives me the answer to how I can play, what shots I can play and if I’m there, I make sure that I take it as long as I can. My mindset is that if I have a start, I should make it big.”

This inning of Jaiswal built up growing reputation as one of India’s most promising young betters, who is capable of lasting long into the innings, while also displaying planed awareness and maturity.
