IND vs WI: Second Test Match Day 4: At lunch, West Indies 252/3 in second innings, trail India by 18 runs

At the end of day three of the second Test against India, the West Indies was at 173/2 in their second innings, yet requiring 97 runs to make India bat again after following on at Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium. Opener John Campbell, unbeaten on 87, and Shai Hope, 66, added a critical 138-run unbroken partnership which is the highest for the West Indies cricket team in any Test in the year 2025.

Left-arm wrist spinner of India Kuldeep Yadav claiming five wickets in the first innings to bowl out the West Indies for 248, a deficit of 270, permissioning skipper Shubman Gill to enforce the follow-on.

Ryan ten Doeschate, India assistant coach protected the follow-on, explaining it as “a good test in the legs” for the India team. Khary Pierre who is West Indies spinner commended the application of team, nothing that collecting more runs would make the deteriorating pitch daring for the batsmen of India. Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj provided developments, while Kuldeep Yadav in 15 Tests completed his fifth five-wicket haul. On day one, Jayden Seales was showing unnecessary aggression, due to which he was fined 25% of his match fee.

In the Ahmedabad test, India had dominated the series opener, winning by an innings and 140 runs, and in the second Test also remain in a commanding position to seal the series.
