Ahead of the ODI series opener match against South Africa, senior batters of team India Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli practice together in the nets in the Ranchi. A video which was shared by a Kohli fan club showed the former skippers working hard in the nets. During the session, Virat Kohli was seen batting while Rohit Sharma stood at the non-striker’s end.
Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma both players last featured in the ODI series of three match in Australia. India lost that ODI series by 1-2, but Rohit sharma with 202 runs completed as the top scorer in three inning. He also struck an unbeaten 121 in the final match of the ODI series. During that tour, Virat Kohli struggled early but back in form with an unbeaten 74 in the last match of the ODI series.
In the upcoming series, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli both will play under KL Rahul. Indian cricket team will play without regular ODI captain Shubman Gill, who is recovering from a neck injury. Vice-captain Shreyas Iyer is also not included in the ODI squad due to a rib injury.

After two years, Ruturaj Gaikwad has returned to the ODI squad. First match of ODI series will be hosted by Ranchi. Second and third matches will be played in Raipur and Visakhapatnam respectively.
The first ODI match will be played at the JSCA International Stadium Complex on Sunday.
