T20 World Cup 2026: Even as chance of Pakistan in T20 World Cup 2026 remains cloudy, PAK players book flight tickets for Colombo

Pakistan boycotting threat of the ICC T20 World Cup seems to have dissipated, but over the weekend a decision set to be made and the ICC and BCCI will be on high alert. Due to misgivings and concerns against playing in India following the withdrawal of Bangladesh from the ICC T20 World Cup, the saga is not quite wrapped up just yet. On the other side Pakistan are set to play in the World Cup with all their matches set in Sri Lanka, there have been mumbles of Pakistan also withdrawing in unity, with no confirmation one way or another.

Sri Lanka Cricket stayed silent during the ICC-BCB standoff due to the nation did not want to be drawn into regional disputes. On talking with AFP, Cricket secretary of Sri Lanka Bandula Dissanayake told “In these disputes among India, Pakistan and Bangladesh, we are remaining neutral. All of these are friendly nations.”
