The Euro 2024 is underway, and Germany has made their intentions clear as they square off to the Round of 16, quite early after their huge win against Scotland was followed by a 2-0 win over Hungary on Wednesday.
The hosts till now have put on an irresistibly commendable performance and have sparked hopes in the minds of their spectators, who seemed underconfident due to their team’s weak form since the 2018 World Cup.
With Kroos keeping aside his international call-off and returning to the German squad, he has seemed to bind the German forwards and defense line together, while he is well supported by Gundogan and Wirtz.
The constant surprise from Germany’s Euro campaign continues to surprise with his stellar, unstoppable form, as he hit his second goal of the tournament from a fine close-range finish. Who else would this be other than Bayern Munich turned Germany’s golden boy, Jamal Musiala?
Alongside several European youngsters, which include Bellingham, Yemal, and many more, the German legend in making, Musiala seems to be the best in this Euro so far.

However, though the hosts took a huge stride into the last 16, their entry was not easy as they faced Hungary, who were hungry for a win to keep themselves alive in the Euro. The one-sidedness of the contest against Scotland seemed to be resisted by some extraordinary efforts from the Hungarian players.
Manuel Neuer, Germany’s most experienced campaigner of the Euro 2024, was much busier than he would have expected to be, as he made early tackles and even was threatened by a rocket free-kick of Szoboszlai. However, Bayern mate Kimmich took guard to keep up the hard work of the German goalkeeper when he denied Hungary an obvious goal with his clearance.
With some good work late in the game in the defensive areas and great advancement in forward runs, Germnay’s back line gave all they could in the game. So did the German midfielders, as Andrich denied several chances to advance for the Hungarians, and Kross played all corners of the game, as he kept sprawling from the defense line to his playmaking role near the penalty box.
Havertz and Wirtz’s involvement in the game would be arguable as they did not seem to serve their chances, though Wirtz was seen often re-positioning the opposition with his change of flags switching wings.
In the meantime, Musiala and Gundogan were the most formidable performers, threatening the Hungarian goal multiple times and attacking with the ball from the central area of the box. The game passed, but Hungary remained clueless about how to resist the young German forward, as he displayed some world-class football.
