After Hosting T20 World cup 2024 in USA, ICC Losses USD 20 million (Rs 167 crore INR). Report Makes Big Claim

The International Cricket Council (ICC) have losses of around USD 20 million (Rs 167 crore INR) for hosting the T20 World cup 2024 games in the USA, according to a report by PTI. In report declared that it will be the important topics of discussion during the ICC Annual conference which will start on 19th July 2024 Friday in Colombo. While the topic is not included in nine-point agenda of the Annual General Meeting (AGM) but will be discussed as a “Post-event report”. One of the major topic to be discuss is BCCI secretary Jay Shah replacing Greg Barclay as the ICC chairman. As per PTI report, an ICC source told that one of the main interesting topic for all at International cricket council is when Jay Shah takes over the command of the World body.

ICC source said “It is not about how but when, as he still has one year left as BCCI secretary before his cooling off period in Indian board starts in 2025 as per constitution. However, if Jay Shah has to take over in 2025,then Greg Barclay can not finish his third term of two years from December 2024 to December 2026,”

It is widely assumed that if Barclay’s current term becomes three years, then Jay Shah can complete his six years as BCCI secretary and take over as ICC chairman in 2025 for three years when he will be relaxing in BCCI. Then in 2028, he can come back and taking the charge of board president.
