In the palace of traditional march into a stadium, in Paris Olympics 2024 which will start tomorrow Nearly 10500 athletes will parade on more than 90 boats on the Seine River for 6 Km(3.7 miles).
The opening ceremony will start at 11 pm(IST) (1:30 pm EDT/7:30 pm CES) and is expected to end in three hours. The parade will begin at the Austerlitz Bridge beside the Jardin des Plantes and follow the course of the seine from east to west. It makes its way around two Islands in the city center before passing under several bridges and gateways. Athletes aboard the boats will get glimpses of several Olympic venues including, La Concorde Urban Park(3X3 basketball, breaking, skateboarding, BMX freestyle cycling), Invalides(archery, athletics-marathon finish, road cycling-time trial start), and the Grand Palais(fencing, taekwondo). The parade will finish at the Lena Bridge which links the Eiffel Tower on the left bank of the Seine to the Trocadero district on the right bank, and the ceremony’s finale will be at the Trocadero. French President Emmanuel Macron will deliver the announcement of the opening. This opening ceremony will air on NBC and stream on NBC Olympic platforms-NBCOlympics.com, NBC.com, NBC Olympics app. and Peacock.
A preview will air on NBC in noon EDT, with live coverage beginning at 1.30 pm and an enhanced prime-time replay at 7:30 pm
The upper tiers of the Seine’s banks are expected to be filled by about 220000 invited and security-screened spectators and 104000 paying spectators will watch from the lower riverside and around the Trocadero plaza.
80 giant screens were set up throughout the city for those who are in Paris and could not get tickets those will able to watch the ceremony on those screens.
Along with athletes who participate in the parade, 3000 artists, dancers, and other athletes will participate in the opening and closing ceremonies. Most of the acts will under cover. According to NBC News Lady Gaga and Celine Dion have arrived in Paris and one or both of them pop singers will perform at the opening ceremony.
