In the history of T20 the Punjab cricketer Abhishek Sharma blasted a 28-ball century, matching the fastest by an Indian in T20 history, during Punjab’s Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy chase Versus Meghalaya. His score of 106, featuring 11 sixes and eight fours, moved Punjab to victory in under ten overs.
The 24-year-old Punjab cricketer achieved this milestone during a match of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy against Meghalaya in Rajkot, achieving his century in just 28 balls while chasing a target of 143.
Abhishek’s extreme innings of 106 runs off just 29 balls which result an amazing strike rate of 365.52.
This explosive performance of Sharma marked a significant reversal, who had been experiencing a relatively quiet tournament. Earlier to this match he had scored only 149 runs in six inning, along with only one half-century.
Prior in the same tournament, Gujarat’s Urvil Patel had set the record also scoring a 28-ball century versus Tripura in Indore.
Before this year’s tournament, the record was in the name of Rishabh Pant, who scored a 32-ball century versus Himachal Pradesh in year 2018.
Meghalaya scored a total of 142 for 7 wickets in their total 20 overs. With the help of Sharma’s extraordinary innings, Punjab achieved the target in within 10 overs.
