In April 2025, Bihar will host Khelo India Youth Games and Para Games showing capability in most sporting events.
The Union Territory of Ladakh will host the ice events which will start from 23th January to 27th January ,2025.Other event the UT of Jammu & Kashmir will host the snow events from 22th February to 25th February 2025. The Winter Games will officially begin with the Khelo India season with the Youth & Para Games which scheduled in Bihar in April next year.
After successfully completing the Women’s Asian Champions Trophy from 11 November to 20 November 2024 at Rajgir, Bihar will host the Khelo India Youth Games (KIYG) 2025 in April next year 2025. The Khelo India Para Games (KIPG) which was held for the first time in Delhi last year, will also be organized in the same state. 10 to 15 days gap will between the KIYG and KIPG.
Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya told “Bihar has recently showcased its capability to host major sporting events,”
The sports Ministry said Bihar is an “integral part of plans to develop infrastructure and provide support to athletes from the grassroots level”.
The statement read “Talent development is at the heart of the Khelo India programs, and Bihar is also a major beneficiary of the Department of Sports developmental programs,”
It added “There are total 38 Khelo India centers in Bihar and one Khelo India State Centre of Excellence cantering to athletes at all levels. In addition to this, there are three SAI Training centers,”
