At the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in a thrilling encounter, Virat Kohli played a match-winning knock, leading India to a six-wicket victory over competitors Pakistan. The star batter’s King Kohli remarkable century not only confirmed the win but also marked a crucial milestone in his illustrious career, as he becomes the third-highest run-scorer in international cricket history after surpassed Australian legend Ricky Ponting.

Virat Kohli’s not out century off 111 balls, including seven boundaries, was a masterclass in batting. This century of Virat’s first in the Champions Trophy and sixth in ICC ODI events.

In attaining this achievement, Virat Kohli became only the third batsman in the history of one-day international cricket to achieve 14000 runs, joining the elite ranks of Sachin Tendulkar and Kumar Sangakkara. With 14,085 runs in 299 ODIs at an average of 58.20, Virat Kohli has now scored 51 centuries and 73 half-centuries, securing his place among cricket’s extraordinary.
