Vaibhav Suryavanshi, a 14-years-old breaks world record, youngest to hit T20 fifty

IPL 2025: RR vs GT: Vaibhav Suryavanshi cracked a 17-ball fifty and became the youngest cricketer in history of T20 cricket, breaking record of Hassan Eisakhil.Vaibhav Suryavanshi at the age of 14 years and 32 days scored a fifty. Vaibhav scored the fastest fifty of the IPL 2025 season off 17 balls. He is the youngest player in IPL history.

In the T20s Vaibhav Suryavanshi became the youngest batsman to score a fifty. The left-handed batter at the age of 14 years and 32 days set the record in the IPL 2025 match between Gujarat Titans (GT) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Monday, 28th April 2025.

Hassan Eisakhil, the son of former Afghanistan captain Mohammad Nabi, who hit a fifty at the age of 15 years and 360 days at the Kabul international cricket stadium when he was playing for Boost Defenders in the Shpageeza League 2022 match against Kabul Eagles. Vaibhav also broke the record for the youngest batter to hit a fifty in the IPL. Vaibhav also broke for the youngest batsman to hit a fifty in the IPL. He broke the record of Riyan Parag, who was scored a fifty at the age of 17 years and 175 days back in 2019 versus Delhi Capitals (DC). Riyan Parag had broken the record of Sanju Samson, who achieved the this marker in year 2013 at the age of 18 years and 169 days.

In the IPL 2025, Vaibhav playing only his third match, Suryavanshi started playing his shots right from the word go after the Titans set the Royals a major aim of 210 to chase down. Vaibhav scored the fastest fifty of the ongoing IPL season off 17 balls. He reached the landmark with a boundary off Washington Sundar in the last ball of the fifth over of the inning.
