After India captain’s middle-order failure Australia great takes a dig at Rohit Sharma with ‘Good Night’ remark

Rohit Sharma in second Test opening Day of India vs Australia in Border-Gavaskar Trophy came out to bat at No. 6 and scored just three runs in 23 balls. Former Australian wicketkeeper Adam Gilchrist rubbed salt to Rohit Sharma’s wound with a ‘good night’ remark after Rohit Sharma was dismissed for a 23-ball stay at the crease on his return to middle-order.

Opting to bat first, the India team lost Yashasvi Jaiswal on the first ball of the Test match. For the second wicket Shubham Gill and KL Rahul tried revive the innings with a 69-run stand for the second wicket. But after dismissal of Rahul brought Australia back in the game as Australia struck at regular intervals.

While Rahul was out at only 37, Shubham Gill followed suit with 31. Virat Kohli, who had a great record in Adelaide, too could not do much , scoring just seven. Nitish Kumar Reddy, who is playing just his second Test, impressed with his self-control in the middle, but at the other end other batsman batted just 44.1 overs.
