Amul pays tribute to Indian spinner R. Ashwin’s ‘illustrious career’ on his retirement

After the Gabba Test in Brisbane against Australia earlier on 18 December 2024, Ravichandran Ashwin announced his retirement from international cricket all formats following India’s draw against Australia.

A day after Ravichandran Ashwin retirement announcement from all formats of international cricket, the legendary diary brand Amul on yesterday paid a tribute in its signature “utterly butterfly” style.

From the social media, it is seen Amul posted a graphical image of Ravichandran Ashwin and wrote ‘#Amul Topical: R Ashwin retires after an illustrious career!”

Ashwin announces retirement:

After the Gabba Test in Brisbane versus Australia, Ashwin announced his retirement from all forms of international cricket following the draw match between India and Australia earlier on 18 December, 2024.

R. Ashwin while sitting besides the skipper Rohit Sharma told to media that 18th December 2024, would be his last day in India’s squad at international level.

Ashwin announcement of retire shocked many, including his family members, cricketers, fans, critics, and experts, Since they were not expecting it from Ashwin, they somehow thought that the announcement could have been delayed until the finishing of the ongoing Border – Gavaskar Trophy.

While addressing for the one last time to his Indian teammates on Wednesday, Ashwin told, “I don’t know how to go about this honestly. It is a very emotional moment for me.”

” It feels just like 2011-12 when I toured here, my first Australian tour and I saw a transition. Rahul (Dravid) bhai left, Sachin (Tendulkar) paaji left. Trust me guys, everybody’s time comes and today was truly my time,” Ashwin added.

Ashwin continued that the international cricketer in him might have ended but the cricket nut in him will never end. “I have thoroughly enjoyed it. Notably built some great relationships and friendships over the last 4-5 years.

Again he continues “I will be taking a flight back home but will tune in to see how well you guys do in Melbourne. The international cricketer in me might have come to an end. I will looking forward to each one of your performances and all the very best,”
