Schedule of Asia Cup 2025
From September 9 to 28 a total of 12 group matches will be played among eight teams divided into two groups. From each group top two sides will advance to the six-match Super Four stage. The top two teams from that stage qualifying for the final on 28th September 2025.
Hong Kong, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Afghanistan belongs to Group A, while the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Pakistan, India, and Oman belongs to Group B.

Team who has won the most Asia Cup title
India is the most successful team have won eight editions out of the 16 editions. India enter the Asia Cup 2025 as the defending champions for winning the last ODI editions in 2023.
The Asia Cup which started in 1984 as an ODI tournament was first held in the T20I format in 2016, as a precursor to the T20 world Cup. Since then, the tournament’s format has changed accordingly, which is based on the format of the upcoming World Cup. Likewise, 2026 T20 World Cup on the horizon.

Return of Shubman Gill to the T20I side, who has been named vice-captain is the India’s most notable inclusion along with captain Suryakumar Yadav. Omission of senior players Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan with Salman Ali Agha retained as their captain for Pakistan. Litton Das will lead Bangladesh while Afghanistan have announced a 22-member preliminary squad led by Rashid Khan.
