Ahead of Asia Cup 2025, Dream11 exits as Team India’s lead sponsor, opening doors for FMCG, automobile, fintech,automobile, and global cooperation to step in.
Just some days before the Asia Cup 2025 the unexpected exit of Dream11 who was lead sponsor of Team India has left the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in a climb. Before the Asia Cup 2025 kick off on September 9 in the United Arab Emirates, the cricket colossus must fixed a new sponsor and reprint jerseys for Indian national team.
Due to recently passed promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Bill 2025, Dream11’s pullout. This Bill bans real-money gaming platforms in India. This move has forced the fantasy gaming giant, which has been equivalent with cricket sponsorship in recent years to suspend all paid contests and operate free-to-play games only.
Dream11 had came out as the largest fantasy sports platform in India which was founded 18 years ago, bragging a valuation of $8 billion. Dream11 in July 2023 secured a three-year deal worth Rs. 358 crore to become the lead sponsor of BCCI taking over from Byju’s. Its association expanded beyond Indian cricket, partnering with the Big Bash League, New Zealand’s Super smash T20 tournaments and Caribbean Premier League.

While exit of Dream11 is a blow, the contract includes a clause saving the company from fine in case of legal disruptions to its core business, quitting BCCI with a clean slate to debate a new deal.
