Upcoming AGM of BCCI on 28th September will speech leadership roles along with presidency role. Current executives like Saikia, Bhatia and Desai seems to remain. Annual General Meeting (AGM) is set to hold on 28th September in Mumbai by The Board of Control for cricket in India (BCCI). In Annual General Meeting (AGM), decisions about the board’s new president along with the IPL (Indian Premiere League) chairman will be taken, PTI reported.

Earlier this month after former India cricketer Roger Binny retired, its president post has been vacant. After serving a total of six years in office, the IPL chairman Arun Dhumal is supposed to take a mandatory cooling-off period.

PTI quoted a veteran BCCI official as saying “There is a feeling among important stakeholders that a cricketer of distinction should always be elected as president. Sourav ganguly was a decorated India skipper and Roger Binny India’s first World Cup winning hero. However, how many such cricketers of repute would be interested in taking up an honorary top job is a big question,”

For all key positions in the BCCI, elections are formally being held. In practice, only one post is assumed to see a contest, as most current positions are seems to stay on.

In BCCI administration, Devajit Saikia has completed three years, two years and three months as joint secretary along with nine months as secretary, is assumed to continue in his role. Devajit Saikia was with one mind elected secretary in January after Jay Shah became the chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC).
