Royal Challengers Bengaluru faces a challenge against Chennai Super Kings at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, as known as Chepauk stadium, Chennai where they have only won once in IPL history. CSK’s spin attack, strengthen by Ashwin, Ahmad and Jadeja, threatens RCB’s lineup. RCB’s reliance on Virat Kohli’s improved spin play and contributions from other batters will be critical in this high-stakes clash.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) face a demanding assignment as they prepare to take on Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the MA Chidambaram stadium on Friday (28th March 2025).With only one win at Chepauk stadium in history of Indian Premier League, dating back to 2008, RCB will be wishing to rewrite history against a formidable CSK side.

With Chepauk’s spin-friendly pitch playing right into their hands, it has long been a fortress for CSK. The return of Ravichandran Ashwin further give strength to an already potent spin attack featuring Ravindra Jadeja and the encouraging Noor Ahmed. This trio exhibited their efficacy against Mumbai Indians, choking their batting lineup by picking up five wickets for just 70 runs in 11 overs.

RCB’s Batting lineup, led by Rajat Patidar and the ever-reliable King Kohli, will have to step up against CSK’s spin-heavy approach. Virat’s recent improvements against spin, specially his increased use of sweeps and slog sweeps, will be pivotal.

However, Royal Challengers Bengaluru cannot afford to rely solely on him. Supports from Phil Salt, Tim David and Krunal Pandya will be crucial to set up a competitive total. The addition of left-arm spinner Jacob Bethell could offer an extra spin option, may be at the expense of overseas batters.

Head- to- Head : CSK dominant the competition

Historically, Chennai Super Kings had dominated in this contest, winning 21 out of 33 encounters, on the other hand RCB have won just 11 victories. For RCB it will need a near-perfect performance to turn the tide. All eyes will be on tomorrow’s high-pressure clash.
