During the match, Shami became the fastest Indian bowler to get the milestone in terms of total matches played, and breaking the record held by Ajit Agarkar who did so in 133 matches.
With this milestone right-arm pacer Shami now eighth Indian bowler to reach this in men’s ODI. He also became the combined second fastest bowler to do so alongside Pakistan’s bowler Saqlain Mushtaq. the record in men’s ODIs belongs to Australian bowler Mitchell Starc who reached the feat in only 102 matches.Shami didn’t stop there as Shami picked up a five-for, and celebrated it by referring both arm raised to the sky as his teammates got around to embrace him. This wicket was Shami’s 60th ODI wicket in an ICC event, again the most by an Indian bowler as he went past Zaheer Khan’s tally of 59. In ICC ODI events, Mohammed Shami has taken those 60 wickets in just only 19 matches at a stunning Strike rate of 15.5.

Shami’s 200th wicket was the partnership-breaking wicket as he had jaker Ali caught by Virat Kohli. With an off cutter, he had Tanzim Hasan Sakib playing onto the stumps. Fifth wicket of Mohammad Shami was Taskim Ahmed who was caught at deep midwicket.
Captain Rohit Sharma had told before match “All we wanted with Shami was to get back wearing that India colours more than anything else. Whether he gets wickets or not that was completely immaterial for us at that point. We wanted him to get back to playing for India,”.
