Former batting coach of India Sanjay Bangar remembered Shubham Gill’s grand first net session with the senior national team, highlighting his performance against fast throwdown experts. Shubham Gill, who debuted in year 2019, has since become a hero for India, attaining significant milestones which include centuries across all cricket formats.

He recalled how Gill’s performance against fast throwdown experts impressed coach Ravi Shastri. The surprising fact came through a video shared by Star Sports on their X platform. During the 2010s Sanjay Bangar had served multiple terms with the Indian coaching team.

Sanjay Bangar told “The first glimpse of Shubham Gill we had during his first net session for India, there is a tradition in India that during the nets session, if you want that approval you you will have to do well against throwdown specialists, who bowl really fast. And unhone uss nets session mein, jo ek screen test hota hena, aise patakhe bajaye the. Ravi Shastri was like, ek taiyaar player mil gaya humein. Such was his first impact,”
