At the Paris 2024 Olympics in the 10m air pistol mixed team game Indian shooters Manu Bhasker and sarabjot Singh won the bronze medal by beating the South Korean pair of Oh Ye Jin/Wonho Lee 16-10.
As Oh Ye Jin was coming into this match after wining gold while Wonho Lee had completed 4th in the men’s 10m air pistol event, therefore in the Women’s 10m air pistol event, so it was not going to be an easy task.
After suffer the loss of opening round to South Korean pair the Indian pair bounced back powerfully to clinch the next remaining four rounds on the trot, which forced the opposition team coach to take the decision of early timeout.
Manu Bhasker was the celebrity of the game for the Indian mixed team, as She consistently shooting over 10. She shot less than 10 only once in the whole match and moved India out of trouble.
Along with Manu Bhasker’s unbelievable shooting, the Indian pair led the match from the 2nd round and after that the Indian pair led till the match end.
At one time, the Indian pair lead in the tie by 14-6, but the South Korean pair won consecutive rounds and extent the India’s time of wait for their second medal.
The 13 number is look at to be bad prediction but the 13th series turned out to be a good prediction for the Indian pair as they secure the round, and with that the bronze medal.
Sarabjot did enough to support his partner who wrote history once again. In this way Manu Bhasker becoming the first Indian athlete to win two medals in a single Olympics edition since independence of India.
Before 124 years ago, In year 1900 when Norman Pritchard won two silver medals in the 200m and 200m hurdles at the Paris Summer Games the last time it happened for India. Manu Bhasker has now become only the 4th Indian athlete to win multiple Olympic medals.
