Argentina ended 2024 reigning world Champions as the top-ranked men’s football team in the FIFA rankings for the second consecutive year. The latest rankings, which was published on last Thursday, saw minimal changes, since November update with only 21 international matches played.
Argentina retained the number 1 spot, followed by France in second place, while champions of Europe Spain secured the third spot to complete the platform. Rest of the top 10 countries remained changeless : England, Brazil, Portugal, the Netherlands, Belgium, Italy, and Germany occupied the fourth to tenth positions, respectively.
FIFA (Federation Internationale de Football Association) highlighted Angola as the biggest mover in current year 2024, climbing 32 places to reach 85th, thanks to playing the most matches during the year.
In April 2025, the next FIFA rankings are set to be released.
