ICC Player of the month for December : Jasprit Bumrah beats Pat Cummins to secure this award

Jasprit Bumrah won the ICC Player of the Month award after beating Pat Cummins and Dane Paterson for the second time.

India pacer Jasprit Bumrah for his extraordinary show in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia was judged ICC Men’s player of the Month of December 2024.In the ICC Test rankings Bumrah broke the record for collecting highest rating points by an Indian, beat fellow nominees, World Test Championship wicket-takers Pat Cummins and Dane Paterson.

Jasprit Bumrah’s memorable year 2024 on the international level drew to a close with more excellent efforts in Australia, taking 22 wickets in December’s three Tests with an average of 14.22.As the home side got bigger in assured, battling back from a 1-0 deficit to take the lead in the series.

Onward to Brisbane and Jasprit Bumrah attacked the Australian batting lineup in the first innings, recording six for 76 in a horrifying spell in the first innings and three for 18 in the second.

Additionally nine-wicket return in Test of Boxing Day in Melbourne involved a spell of five for 57 in the second innings, upon which right arm fast bowler set a new record for the highest rating points tally by any Indian bowler in the history of Indian cricket.

Bumrah will be desiring for continued success in the coming days, where he is nominated for two top awards- The coveted Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy for ICC Men’s Cricketer of the Year and the ICC Men’s Test Cricketer of the year award.
