The ‘home of cricket’ Lord’s will host its first-ever women’s Test match in year 2026.The England and wales cricket board (ECB) announced on Thursday 22 August. In the recent past the BCCI have put a lot of focus on India women’s team Test matches.The ECB said that England will hosting India in a one-off Test match at Lord’s in 2026.
In December 2023 India and England recently played each other in a one-off women’s Test at the DY Patil sports Academy in Navi Mumbai.In that match India beat England by a massive 347 runs.In the past also Lord’s has hosted women’s matches but they have all been in the white-ball format of the game.
England Women have played white-ball matches at Lord’s for the past three years, but it will be first time Lord’s has hosted a Women’s Test match.
ECB CEO Richard Gould said ” I’m also delighted we can confirm that India Women will return in 2026 to take on England Women in the first-ever women’s Test match at Lord’s. It will be a truly special occasion, and one of real significance,”
On September 2, 4 and 7 at Headingley, Lord’s and Southampton India and England will play three ODIs respectively.
” It has also been confirmed that India Women will return in 2026 for a one-off Test match at Lord’s -the 1st-ever Women’s Test to be staged at the Home of Cricket,” the ECB added.
“In the last three years,England Women have played white-ball matches at home of cricket means Lord’s but it will first time Lord’s will host a women’s Test match.” India have played nine Tests so far against England from June 1986. Their last match at Bristol in June 2021 with a draw result.

India women’s team will also tour England in 2025 before their Test match in 2026 to play a white-ball series. India will play against England in five T20 Internationals match which will start from 28th June 2025 in Nottingham.The final T20I of the T20 series will be played on 12 July 2025 in Nottingham.The India women’s team also play 3-match ODI series, which will start from 16 July 2025 and ends on 22th July 2025.
