Mohammed Shami have chance to play just one T20I for India on his return from Injury after 14 months against England.Shami may be play in fifth and final T20I. The final T20I will play in Mumbai on Sunday at the Wankhede Stadium. The 4th T20I won by India in Pune on Friday to pocket the series 3-1 with a match to spare. Earlier India won in the Kolkata and Chennai while England won in the Rajkot.
Due to injury Mohammad Shami coming back after 14 months was a victim of India plans to go spin-heavy in series.He made a return to Indian playing XI in Rajkot but without any success.
As the series already won by India, India can afford to experiment and give the bench warmers a chance to show their spirit before the One day international series against the England only which will start on 6th February 2025.
In Rajkot, Mohammed Shami was bowled only three overs and admitted 25 runs at an economy rate of 8.33. Morkel Morkel who is India bowling coach is elated with Mohammed Shami’s return and disclosed that he is likely to play in 5th T20I in Mumbai.
Morkel said to media at the post-match press conference “Shami’s been bowling really well, catching to him at warm-ups… so very happy he is coming along. He is probably going to get an opportunity in the next game, we will see how things go, but excited to have him back in the group,”

As like the Rajkot tie, Mohammed Shami could replace Arshdeep Singh in the Indian playing XI against England at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. After the Harshit Rana impressive three wickets on debut in Pune, the Indian squad is likely to go with the youngster of Indian cricket team.
