Right-handed Indian batsman aged 19-years old crossed the 100-run mark with a single run on the 53rd ball of the match against Scotland which is ongoing in Kuala Lumpur. Indian opening star batter Gongadi Trisha created history on Tuesday, 28th January 2025 by registering her name to become the first player in the ICC Women’s U19 T20 World Cup to score a century. The right-handed batter Trisha Gongadi achieved the feat during India’s Super Six match against Scotland, which is currently going on in Kuala Lumpur at Bayuemas Oval.
With a single on the last ball of the 18th over, the 19-year-old Trisha Gongadi crossed the 100-run mark which was bowled by Scotland by Scotland spinner Maisie Maceira. She achieved this 100-run mark in 53 balls. Trisha Gongadi remained unbeaten on 110 runs from 59 balls which helped India post a total of 208 runs on the board for the loss of one wicket in 20 overs.
During Trisha stay at the crease, she beaten 13 fours and 4 sixes. She add on 147 runs for the first wicket with G Kamalini (51 runs from 42 balls) in 13.3 overs and 61 for the second wicket with Sanika Chalke (29 runs from 20 balls).
During the mid-innings interview Gongadi Trisha told about her performance “I am very happy,”
After winning all four matches played so far India has already qualified for the semifinals of the ongoing tournament.
