In the ODIs, in place of Santner, Michael Bracewell will lead the New Zealand team. Moreover, the likes of Matt Henry, Mark Chapman and Rachin Ravindra, New Zealand captain have rested for the ODI series.
On Tuesday, New Zealand Cricket Board (NZC), announced the squads for India’s white-ball tour come January 2026. For the three-match ODIs, regular captain Mitchell Santner will be rested whereas Kane Williamson was axed fully.
However, for the T20I series, ahead of the T20 World Cup 2026, the New Zealand teams have included their bigwigs as they look to fine-tune their side. BlackCaps are in Group D along with South Africa, Canada, Afghanistan and United Arab Emirates.
