IND vs NZ: Shreyas Iyer passed fit for ODI series, set to be part of India playing 11

By turning out for Mumbai in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy, where Shreyas Iyer registered scores of 82 and 45, he sealed his return in playing 11 of ODI series of the Indian Cricket Team against New Zealand. After declared match fit,Shreyas Iyer will join one-day international squad ahead of the three-match ODI series against New Zealand which will starting on January 11 in Vadodara. Earlier this month, the middle-order batter was included in the 15-member squad subject to fitness clearance, after proving his readiness in domestic cricket has been cleared.

Cleared after taking part in Vijay Hazare Trophy

By turning out for Mumbai in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy where he scored of 82 and 45, Shreyas Iyer sealed his return in the series against New Zealand. The innings came as an important maker in his recovery process which prompting medical staff and team management to give the green light to him for ODI series against New Zealand.

Comeback in national squad after injury lay-off

Since October 25, the 29-year-old has been out of international cricket when he suffered a spleen injury in Sydney while attempting a catch during the ODI against Australia. Due to that incident, he suffered internal bleeding caused by a spleen laceration, admitted him in hospital. As he underwent recovery and rehabilitation, he missed home ODI series against South Africa. He resumes his role as vice-captain of India which will add leadership depth to the Indian squad.

The first ODI match of India and New Zealand will be played at the Kotambi Stadium which will host a men’s international match for the first time.
