On Day 1 of 4th Test, Rishabh Pant retired hurt and went for scans after copping a blow on his right foot while batting on Day 1. Due to a toe fracture Vice-captain and star wicketkeeper has been advised six weeks rest. According to a media report Rishabh Pant has been ruled out for the remaining of the series, leaving India with a man short for the remainder of the Manchester Test. Team India finished On day one at 264/4 with Shardul Thakur (19*) and Ravindra Jadeja (16*).

As per report, the chances of Rishabh Pant batting in the Manchester Test are not 0%, but medical advice plays a main role, Rishabh Pant can still play a role in Manchester Test.

A report in media quoted a source as saying “At the moment, heis unable to put pressure on his foot – as everyone saw, he was carted off the ground yesterday. But he is determined, and knowing him, he might still come out to bat, who knows. That said, much will depend on the medical advice, not just his intent,”
