Rishabh Pant made twin centuries in Headingley Test and matching many records along the way and in this way Pant continued to cement his fame as India’s most fearless wicketkeeper-batter.
Pant scored 134 runs in the first innings, and 118 in the second inning, becoming the first Indian who score centuries in both innings of a Test in England. He is now member of India’s twin centuries club which includes Vijay Hazare, Sunil Gavaskar (three times ), Rahul Dravid (two times), Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane and Rohit Sharma.
Pant’s four Test centuries in England put Pant alongside Sachin Tendulkar and Dilip Vengsarkar, both of whom have four centuries in the England. Rahul Dravid has more for India, with six Test centuries in England.

Two centuries of Pant also made Pant only the second designated wicketkeeper to achieve this achievement in the history of Test after Andy Flower of Zimbabwe. Match aggregate of 252 runs of him is the highest by an Indian wicketkeeper in a Test. He broke the record of 230 of Budhi Kunderan against England in 1964 in Chennai. In the Test cricket it is also fourth-highest match aggregate by any wicketkeeper. Now only Andy Flower is ahead of him.
Pant struck nine sixes in the second innings of first Test, which is equal to the record for the most sixes in a Test in England along with Andrew Flintoff and Ben stokes.
