India vs South Africa Highlights, First Test Day 3: In the 1st Test at Eden Gardens, South Africa secured an unforgettable 30-run win over India, asserting their first Test victory on Indian soil in 15 years and taking lead in the series of two Tests. The South Africa set a modest target of 124 runs in the first Test. In reply Indian team out for 93 on the pitch of Eden Gardens that offered sharp turn and uneven bounce. Off-spinner Simon Harmer led the attack glowingly with the figures of 4-21, while other bowlers Keshav Maharaj taken two wickets by giving 37 runs and Marco Jansen taken 2 wickets by giving only 15 runs and the match finished within three days.

In the absence of skipper Shubman Gill, who was hospitalised due to a neck spasm and ruled out for the remainder of the match, Indian squad were severely obstructed. India were reeling at 10-2, effectively 10-3 without Shubman Gill at lunch.Opens Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul were out cheaply by Jansen. Dhruv Jurel and Washington Sundar stabilized the innings of India with a 32-run stand after the break, but Harmer broke the partnership through by removing Jurel before removing Rishabh Pant for two. Ravindra Jadeja scored 18, but he too fell lbw to Harmer.

Earlier, South Africa team scored total of 153 in their second innings. Skipper Temba Bavuma scored superb unbeaten 55, which was only half-century of the Test, and shared a essential 44-run stand with Corbin Bosch.

The second Test starts in Guwahati from 22 November 2025.
