India vs South Africa: In Guwahati Test, Nitish Reddy could play

As per report by The Times of India, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has called for all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy ahead of the 2nd Test against South Africa in Guwahati to join the squad. Nitish Reddy was earlier released from Indian squad and instructed to participate in India A’s ODI against South Africa A.

However, Reddy has been called back due to uncertainty over fitness of Shubman Gill. On Tuesday, at Eden Gardens, Nitish Kumar Reddy will rejoin the squad earlier than awaited and join in an optional training session. Reddy has been called back as a back-up option with Shubman Gill injuring his neck in the Kolkata Test.

Nitish Reddy, an all-rounder, who participated in first two List A matches for India A against South Africa, will miss the third match. On Wednesday, Shubman Gill will likely travel with team to Guwahati, as Gill was suffered a neck spasm in Kolkata and has been discharged from the hospital. The Indian Test captain Gill is monitored by the BCCI officials and medical Staff. If Reddy will play the second Test, It remains to be seen.
