Teams paid high amount of money to these players as teams hopes they would lead their team to fame. In these players none of their teams reached into the playoffs. The Indian Premier League (IPL) is near to end with just three teams left chasing the highest honor in T20 franchise cricket.

The IPL 2025 season has already delivered over 1200 sixes and nearly 2200 fours, as fans of all team have been thoroughly enjoyed. But big-money stars of many teams failed to deliver in IPL 2025.

Rishabh Pant – Lucknow Super Giants (Rs. 27 crore)

After the departure of KL Rahul, the Lucknow Super Giants were in urgent need of a new leader for their franchise, and the franchise withdrawn all stops to bag Rishabh Pant. However, Rishabh Pant price tag likely to be high as he put on a pain for LSG in IPL 2025 as LSG failed to qualify for the playoffs. Rishabh Pant has played in total 14 innings scored total 269 runs with an average of 24.45 in the IPL 2025.

Venkatesh Iyer – Kolkata Knight Riders ( Rs 23.57 crore)

Defending Champions Kolkata Knight Riders allotted high money to retain star top-order batsman Venkatesh Iyer, spending Rs. 23.75 crore in the auction for his signature, but he also couldn’t bear the price tag.Venkatesh Iyer has played in total 11 innings scored total 142 runs with an average of 20.29 in the IPL 2025.

Mohammad Shami – Sunrisers Hyderabad (Rs 10 crore)

Sunriser Hyderabad who was last year’s runners-up spattered Rs 10 crore on Mohammad Shami as they looked to onboard an experienced new ball specialist to guide their bowling attack. However, Shami has picked up only six wickets during the whole IPL season. Shami has played in total 9 innings taken only 6 wickets with an average of 56.17 in the IPL 2025.

Ravichandran Ashwin – Chennai Super Kings (Rs 9.75 crore)

CSK brought back R. Ashwin but his return to hometown franchise was sad. He was expected to be five-time champions team fortline bowler, but his performance throughout whole season was not effective as CSK completed dead last. He has played in total 9 innings taken only 7 wickets with an average of 40.43 in the IPL 2025.

Jake Fraser- McGurk – Delhi Capitals (Rs. 9 crore)

After a excellent season in IPL 2024, Dehli Capitals retained the top-order batsman Jake Fraser-McGurk for Rs 9 crore. His season burnt and crashed before being dropped midway through.He has played in total 6 innings scored only 55 runs with an average of 9.17 in the IPL 2025.
