IPL 2025: BCCI asks franchises to recall all players by 13 May 2025 as IPL 2025 resumption date set: Report

BCCI plans to extend IPL tournament upto 30th May 2025, resuming on 16th May or 17th May after a week-long suspension due to India-Pakistan tension. Remaining matches of IPL 2025 will be held in Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Chennai in new schedules, with new schedules released to franchises by today evening, and it all set to restart from 16 May 2025. All teams except Punjab Kings must report by Tuesday for the tournament to resume by Friday.

BCCI is understood to have asked all teams of IPL 2025 except Punjab Kings, to report to their respective venues by 13th May 2025 so that the IPL 2025 can resume by Friday with many of the foreign players and support staff leaving for their own countries on Friday, The BCCI has informed the franchises of IPL to inform their players about the travel plans.

After being informed by the BCCI to IPL franchises, IPL franchises are reportedly making fly back arrangements to their players.

Including play-offs and the final, 16 matches left in the IPL 2025 tournament, the BCCI is also told to be planning to finish the critical tournament, with many double- headers being planned.

Plans of BCCI confirms by IPL Chairman:

IPl Chairman Arun Dhumal said the reporters that they are looking at the possibility of resuming the IPL ‘immediately’ given that India and Pakistan have already announced a ceasefire on Saturday.

“Ceasefire has just been announced. We now explore the possibility of resuming and concluding the IPL. If it is possible to conduct it immediately.. We need to work out the venue dates and everything, and we would now be speaking to all the stakeholders, including team owners, broadcasters, and everyone involved and find a way as to how to move forward. Most importantly, we will have to consult with the government,” Dhumal said to publication.
