IPL 2025: Flop show of Rohit Sharma continues in IPL 2025 with another early exit

Rohit Sharma was dismissed for 17 runs against RCB, which mark his highest score of the season but still a disappointing outing. His struggles in IPL 2025 continued. He missed a match due to injury, Rohit showed early promise with a six and two fours, but fell to a sharp inswingers.

India team skipper and Mumbai Indians opener Rohit Sharma’s difficult period in IPL 2025 persisted as he was out for just 17 against Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Monday at the Wankhede Stadium.

Chasing a target 222, Rohit Sharma showed brief promise, cracking a six off Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the first over and following it up with two successive boundaries off Yash Dayal. Nevertheless, fourth ball from Dayal- a sharp inswingers- sneaked past Rohit’s bat and collide with his leg stump. This was marked his highest score of the IPL 2025 season so far, after three a letdown before : 0 vs CSK, 8 vs GT, and 13 vs KKR, Sharma, who missed previous match of Mumbai Indians due to a minor injury, has scored only 38 runs in last four innings.

He is fallen to a left-arm pacer and this being the 12th time since 2024 in T20s, he is fallen to a left-arm pacer. Earlier in the evening, Royal Challengers Bengaluru scored 221/5 thanks to fifties from Virat Kohli (67) and Rajat Patidar (64).
