Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) scored 238/3 in first inning. With 7 fours and 8 sixes, Nicholas Pooran was the leading man of the show, and he looked impeccable touch. Chasing the target of 238, KKR lost wickets at regular intervals, which made difficult to win the match. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) skipper Ajinkya Rahane won the toss and opted to bowl against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in their Indian Premier League 2025 match on Tuesday (8th April, 2025). Nevertheless, the move did not get the wanted result as Aiden Markram and Mitchell Marsh got off to a flier. After falling the wicket of Markram, Mitchell Marsh continued the good play and, with the partnerships with Nicholas Pooran, helped Lucknow Super Giants get past 200 in quick time. They finally finished their innings at 238/3 which was also their 2nd highest team total in the history of IPL.

Chasing the challenging target, Kolkata Knight Riders got off to a rapid takeoff, with Narine and Rahane scoring 90 runs in the powerplay. But after that the hosts kept losing wickets but did not allow the required run rate to jump too high. However, the match oscillated towards the end of the innings, Rinku Singh scored 38 off 15, but it was not enough as Kolkata Knight Riders fell short by a whisker.
