They finally finished their innings at 238/3 which was also their 2nd highest team total in the history of IPL.

Chasing the challenging target, Kolkata Knight Riders got off to a rapid takeoff, with Narine and Rahane scoring 90 runs in the powerplay. But after that the hosts kept losing wickets but did not allow the required run rate to jump too high. However, the match oscillated towards the end of the innings, Rinku Singh scored 38 off 15, but it was not enough as Kolkata Knight Riders fell short by a whisker.
