Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indian honored victims of the Pahalgam terrorist attack with silence of one minutes and black armbands during their IPL 2025 match at the Rajiv Gandhi International stadium in Hyderabad on yesterday. Sunrisers Hyderabad, struggling with conflicting with their performances and in need of a win to bring life in IPL season, faced a assured Mumbai Indians team riding a three-game winning streak.

BCCI, the players along with IPL paid their tribute to victims of terrorist attack of Tuesday in Pahalgam. The terrible assault targeted a popular tourist destination in South Kashmir’s Pahalgam, asserting the lives of at least 26 people and several others peoples injured. For Sunrisers Hyderabad, the fixture holds bigger significance than just points on the board – it represents a chance to bring around a faltering campaign. With just two wins out of seven matches, Pat Cummins’s side is under high-pressure to deliver.

The team has especially struggled on slower, turning tracks, a weakness that was again exposed during their recent four-wicket loss to Mumbai Indians in Mumbai. Even home turf has not brought help, with Sunrisers Hyderabad losing two of their three matches in Hyderabad.

One more defeat would severely dent their playoff hopes and pile on the pressure. If we are considering the history of SRH vs MI encounters which also doesn’t favour SRH – they have managed just 10 wins in total of 24 clash.

For now, Mumbai Indians have found their rhythm. After poor start in IPL 2025 season, the five-time champions have surged back with three straight wins, in which last being a commanding nine-wicket win over Chennai Super Kings. Chasing 180 with ease, they stamped their power and arrive in Hyderabad with full confidence.
