IPL 2026: Highlights of Kolkata Knight Riders vs Gujarat Titans: With an 86 off 50 balls, Shubman Gill shone as Gujarat Titans defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by five wickets in their IPL 2026 match in Ahmedabad on Friday. Shubman Gill, the GT skipper smashed eight fours and four sixes as Gujarat Titans reached home in 19.4 overs in the chase of 181. Earlier, all-rounder of Kolkata Knight Riders Cameron Green found form, scoring a quick-fire 79 to save his side to 180 all out. After KKR saw their top order torn apart by pacers Kagiso Rabada (3/29) and Mohammed Siraj (2/23), knock of Green off 55 balls came. Before Green rebuilt the innings, adding a 55-run stand for the fourth wicket, KKR were reduced to 32/3 inside the fourth over. Rovman Powell (27), followed by a steady partnership with Anukul Roy (9) to force the total to a respectable finish.

The match was effectively shaped in the powerplay, where Kagiso Rabada and Mohammed Siraj produced a high-quality new-ball spell to leave Kolkata Knight Riders reeling at 37 for 3. Relentless accuracy of Siraj and ability of Rabada to extract movement proved too much for the top order, as Ajinkya Rahane fell for a golden duck and two more wickets followed rapidly.

For KKR, despite the early collapse Cameron Green played a lone hand for KKR with a well-compiled 79 off 55 balls. Through partnerships with Rovman Powell and Anukul Roy, he anchored the innings, even taking on Rashid Khan with authority during the middle overs. However, lack of help from the rest of KKR’s batting unit meant KKR could only achieve 180, which is a total that always looked slightly below par on a good surface. Gujarat Titans easily closed out the chase to secure a five-wicket win which was their third victory of the IPL 2026 season, while struggles of KKR continued with one more defeat.
