At the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Dehli, Delhi Capitals arisen to a commanding six-wicket victory over Mumbai Indians. Delhi Capitals who was chasing a target of 163, the home side rode on a striking 90-run blitz from player of the match Sameer Rizvi, finishing from David Miller and a disciplined opening spell by Mukesh Kumar to confirm their second consecutive win of the IPL 2026 season.

Batting first, Mumbai Indians got immediate pressure as Mukesh Kumar (2/26) struck early. Before dismissing Tilak Varma shortly in the third over, the pacer removed Ryan Rickelton (9) leaving the visitors reeling at 18/2.

Rohit Sharma scored a fluent 35 off 26 balls. He got support in stand-in captain Surya Kumar Yadav, who lead the middle overs with a 51 off 36 balls.

However, spinners of Dehli Capitals led by Axar Patel and Vipraj Nigam suffocated the scoring rate in the middle period. As the Delhi Capitals bowled a tight leash, Mumbai Indians slipped from a promising 69/2 to 86/4. With the help of Naman Dhir (28) and Corbin Bosch pushed the total to 162/6.

On a shaky note the Delhi Capitals chase started as Deepak Chahar taken the wicket of KL Rahul (1) in the very first over, followed by the cheap dismissal of Nitish Rana (0), a brilliant run out from jasprit Bumrah, reduced to 2/2, the Delhi Capitals required a partnership which was provided through Pathum Nissanka and Sameer Rizvi.

With a quick-fire 44 off 30 balls, Nissanka played the perfect foil, taking on the spinners and neutralizing the warning of Mitchell Santner. At the other end, Sameer Rizvi continued his breakout season. Rizvi achieved his half-century in only 32 balls which was his second consecutive fifty in the season.

Although Rizvi in short of maiden century fell ten runs, holed out to long-off off bowling of Bosch, the damage was done. Miller in the 19th over completing the match in style with boundary.
