In the upcoming IPL 2026 season, Sunrisers Hyderabad likely to lead by team India’s left-handed batter Ishan Kishan,as till now there is no clarity on when Pat Cummins will link up with the Sunrisers Hyderabad. SRH management has had a discussion about this regard, and Team management identified Ishan Kishan as the most suitable candidate for leading Sunrisers Hyderabad in the absence of Australian fast bowler Pat Cummins. In IPL 2026, Abhishek Sharma will be deputy of Ishan Kishan.
The 27-year-old Ishan Kishan has had a excellent T20 World Cup campaign, where he became the honour of the nation due to his performances, initially as a top-order batter and then at No.3 after returning Sanju Samson in the playing XI.

In the IPL, Ishan Kishan has established himself as one of the most explosive wicketkeeper-batters. Across 119 matches in the IPL, including Sunrisers Hyderabad playing for three franchises and has scored 2,998 runs from 112 innings with an average of 29.10 and a strike rate of 137.64. His performances includes one century, 17 half-centuries, 288 fours and 134 sixes which shows his aggressive batting style.

Ishan Kishan performances in T20 World Cup 2026
During the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, Kishan played a key role for the India national cricket team, completing as second-highest run-scorer with 317 runs in nine innings with a strike rate above 193 and an average of 35.22. His performances in T20 World Cup 2026 included three half-centuries including one in the final match supporting India to clinch the title.
Telling after the victory “Our team won obviously, it is a very good thing, not only for us, but for the whole nation. We hope to continue playing cricket like this and keep winning.”
