Jasprit Bumrah enters notable list for India; Joins MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma

Fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has achieved a remarkable milestone. He became now the first Indian fast bowler to take part in 50 matches across all three formats of the game.This achievement of Bumrah follows his recent record as the fastest bowler of India to claim 50 home Test wickets.

Just days after becoming the fastest bowler of India at home to take 50 Test wickets, Jasprit Bumrah has etched his name into the record books with another landmark. Bumrah is become the first Indian seamer to play 50 matches across all formats this time.

For the second Test against the West Indies, he has been picked in the playing XI on Friday (October 10), Jasprit Bumrah is playing in his 50th Test match to go with 89 ODIs and 75 T20Is. Bumrah is taken 467 wickets in all three formats of cricket – 222 in Tests, 149 in ODIs and 96 in T20Is.

31-year-old has played 49 Tests so far, Bumrah is taken 222 wickets at an average of 23.55 with 96 wickets coming in the shortest format @ 17.85.

Other Indians player who grace this list of playing at least 50 matches across all formats includes MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, R Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja and KL Rahul.

Jasprit Bumrah reached the milestone of fastest to 50 Test wickets at home during the first Test against the West Indies at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. He achieved the figure in 1,747 balls during his iconic figures of 3/42. Jasprit Bumrah was also the joint-quickest to the mark in terms of innings – level with Javagal Srinath – but better than Kapil Dev, Ishant Sharma and Mohammed Shami.
