Mohamed Salah has scored with 17 goals and helped 13 times in the Premier League even as his future with the club hangs in the balance.
Liverpool Football club’s Mohamed Salah told in an interview that he wanted to win the Premier League in what he termed as his ‘last year’ at the club.
The Egyptian winger told to sky sports ” The first thing that was on the list was to win the premier League with Liverpool. In my interview over the last seven or eight years, I always say (I want to win the) champions League. But this is the first time I’m saying I really want to win the Premier League with Liverpool,”
He added “It’s probably because we didn’t celebrate the one we won in the way we wanted and also, coming back here too, it’s my last year in the club so you want to do something special for the city,”
Salah had told sky sports on asking about his future following Liverpool’s 5-0 win over West Ham United last week : “No, we are far away from that (contract) and I don’t want to put anything in the media. The only thing on my mind is I want Liverpool to win the league and I want to be part of that.”
“I will do my best for the team to win the trophy. There is a few other teams catching up with us and we need to stay focused and humble and go again.”
Along with Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander Arnold and Virgil Van Djik’s contracts coming to an end. Despite being top of the league, securing the trio who comprise the spine of the Merseyside club could be pivotal to their next few seasons.
