On Wednesday (2nd April, 2025) Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) lost to the Gujarat Titans, registering their first loss of the ongoing IPL 2025 season. More than losing of RCB against GT , the fans were concerned about finger injury of Virat Kohli that he assisted while fielding.
Head coach of Royal Challengers Andy Flower has provided a major update on leading batter Virat Kohli’s injury. He suffered the finger injury while fielding during the match against Gujarat Titans (GT) on Wednesday (2nd April) in Bengaluru at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.
The event occurred in the 12th over of Gujarat Titans batting innings when Virat Kohli attempted to stop a four. Virat Kohli known to give his full strength on the field all the time, Virat put in a dive at deep midwicket but the ball went through his hands. But the ball hit his finger and looked in wincing only for the physio to attend him and treat.

After finishing the match, RCB head coach was asked if injury of Virat Kohli was critical and he brushed aside any of those worries stating that their Ex. skipper in absolutely fine. “Virat looks fine; he’s okay,” Flower told in the post-match press conference.
It was a day to forget for Virat Kohli as Virat scored only seven runs before getting out to left-arm pacer Arshad Khan. Virat was the 1st batsman to get out for the team RCB in the game as they collapsed to 42/4 very early in the innings. Though, key distributions from Tim David, Liam Livingstone and Jitesh Sharma, helped them post a fighting total of 169 runs in their total 20 overs.
