Neeraj Chopra has told Vinesh’s journey is well documented and the way she has overcome career-threatening injuries and personal setbacks to reach here is really surprising.
As we know Vinesh Phogat was disqualified from the 50 kg wrestling final because she was 100 gram over the require weight. Javelin throw’s Silver medalist Neeraj Chopra would open up on the situation and would acknowledge she has done remarkable things and was confident that god has bigger plan for her.
“I haven’t spoken to Vinesh Phogat yet, but whatever she has done here, woh ek misaal hai(she is an example).He told that beating to Yui Susaki is in itself such a big thing.And after that, whatever she has been through, I don’t understand the rule of wrestling that well.But, she was on her way confidently to gold. But then, this event happened. I was having breakfast in the morning when I got to know this.Felt really, really sad,”Neeraj Chopra said while addressing the press.
Everyone knows the journey of Vinesh Phogat which was very tough.In 2016 she overcome from dangerous injury and again in 2020 she having more injuries. She has went through so many personal difficulties.And for her to come back from that, recover from it,get herself to this position and be mentally strong from all that… it was going so well.Phir pata nahi, bhagwan ko kuch aur hi Manzoor tha(Then I don’t know, God had something else in mind)..But we all know that whatever she had done, it is great.On Thursday Vinesh Phogat announced her retirement from wrestling due to her painful disqualification in the Paris Olympics wrestling final.Vinesh wrote on Twitter(X) “Mother wrestling beat me, I lost.Your dream and my courage are all broken. I don’t have any more strength now.Goodbye Wrestling 2001-2024. I will forever be in your debt,”
On taking retirement of Vinesh Phogat,Bajrang Punia paid his respects to Vinesh Phogat.He wrote on social media “Vinesh was on the cups of winning a gold medal for India at the Paris Olympics 2024. But on wednesday,she lost out after being disqualified from her gold-medal bout against USA’s Sarah Hildebrandt.
She was replaced by Yusneylys Guzman of cuba in the final.As we all know 29-year-old Vinesh Phogat was found to be only 100 grams more than the allowed limit after which she was disallowed.Bronze medal winner in the Tokyo Olympics Bajrang Punia cheered Vinesh Phogat as “the pride of India”.
