Pakistan’s bowler Shaheen Afridi become youngest bowler who completed 100 wickets in all 3 formats

Pakistan pacer Shaheen Afridi on yesterday (10 December 2024) becomes youngest bowler to finish 100 wickets in all 3 formats. Shaheen achieved this record in the first T20I against South Africa in Durban. With this achievement left-arm pacer become only the third Pakistan bowler after Shadab Khan and Haris Rauf to reach 100 wickets in the all format of the game.

Afridi achieved this feat in his 74th T20I match of his career which makes him third-quickest bowler from a Full-Member nation. After Haris Rauf (71) and Mark Adair (72) to claim 100 T20I wickets Afridi become third bowler to complete 100 T20I wickets.

Along with this Afridi also become only the forth bowler to finish 100 wickets in all three formats. He is now only bowler who achieved 100 wickets in all formats before turning 30. Lasith Malinga, Sri Lanka pace legend was the first bowler to reach 100 wickets in all three formats, and he was achieved the mark in year 2019. He was followed by New Zealand’s Tim Southee and Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan in year 2021.

Shaheen Afridi made his T20I debut in Pakistan cricket team before his 18th birthday in 2018. Shaheen become the fastest fast bowler from a full Member Nation to complete 100 ODI wickets during ODI World cup in India last year 2023, reaching this mark in only his 54th ODI match. Shaheen Afridi set the tone after the wicket of Rassie Van der in the first over of the match only. Later, he returned to dismiss David Miller, who was scored 82 in just 40 balls and to took the game away from the visitors. Also in his last ball of the match, Shaheen confined Nqabayomzi Peter in front of the stumps.
