Who’s next – Is it Pandya or is it Pant to lead Indians in the future without skipper Rohit Sharma.
India has been crowned the World Champions, and the man who has been a major cause of this great triumph is the Indian skipper Rohit Sharma. Rohit led by example as he ended the most run scorers, second highest in the tournament, and the highest for India.
However, India might have troubles soon, as the veteran has announced a retirement from the format. Though finding a batter like Rohit, the intent, excellence, and fearlessness would be tough to find; however, India has already kept options for the captaincy role for the post-Rohit era.
Stunning Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya was the most hard-working hero of the finals, as he secured the game for India by getting rid of Klaasen and Miller before defending 16 runs in the final over. Everyone knows how much it meant to the Mumbai Indians skipper and the team India vice-captain.
Hardik has already had some success as a skipper while playing with the Gujarat Titans in the Indian Premier League, with a title win in the debut season of 2022. His consistency makes him a constant in the Indian lineup, and probably he would be the most able and likely successor to Rohit Sharma.
On the other hand, Rishabh Pant, the Delhi Capitals skipper and wk-batsman, has also been on the cards for the contention of the role of captain of the Indian Cricket team. Pant has also gathered immense praise and attention for his implementation and composure as a captain. Though invariably a good player, Pandya seems a more likely legendary cricketer to stand a chance than Pant in the role of Indian captain.

Now this would be upon Indian management, newly appointed Indian coach Gautam Gambhir, who is about to arrive, to decide whether Pandya or Pant can be placed in a role to lead the current World T20 Champions.
