Rs 58 crore cash reward from BCCI for Champions Trophy win – here is the break-up

The Indian Cricket team has been awarded a cash reward of 58 crore Rupees by the The Board of control for cricket in India for their victory in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The Indian team maintained an unbeaten record, defeating New Zealand in the final, besides group-stage wins over Bangladesh, Pakistan and New Zealand, followed by a win over Australia in the semifinal.

Due to victory of the Indian team in the ICC Champions Trophy earlier in this month on 9th of March 2025 has earned them a whopping cash reward of Rs 58 crore from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), who made the declaration on Thursday (20th March 2025).

“The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is delighted to announce a cash rewards of the INR 58 crore for Team India following their triumph at the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. This financial recognition honours the players, coaching and support staff and members of the Men’s Selection Committee,” The BCCI told in a statement.

How the prize money gets distributed

Each player of the 15-player squad will receive Rs. 3 crore from the BCCI. Along with this, the BCCI has declared that the whole ICC prize money for winning the Champions Trophy 2025 (US$ 2.24 million, or Rs 20 crores) will be shared by the Indian team players alone.

India’s unbeaten run to got the Champions Trophy saw Rohit Sharma & co. dominating the tournament with five wins.

In the semi-final, India defeated Australia by four wickets to make a place in the title match.

BCCI president, Roger Binny, was quoted in the press release “Winning back-to-back titles is special and this reward recognizes Team India’s dedication and excellence on the global stage,”

“The cash award is a recognition of the hard work that everyone puts in behind the scenes. This was also our second ICC Trophy in 2025, following the ICC U19 Women’s Word Cup triumph and it highlights the strong cricketing ecosystem in place in our country,” he added.

Prize money for Gambhir, Agarkar and rest national selector too

Meantime, Head coach of India Gautam Gambhir also will receive the same amount as the players (Rs 3 crore) and each of one support staff will receive Rs. 50 lakhs, from the BCCI. Chief selector of India Ajit Agarkar will receive 30 lakhs and other four national selectors will receive Rs 25 lakhs. Other members of the BCCI staff, who were a part of the Indian team’s contingent in Dubai, will receive Rs 25 lakhs each.
