Ruturaj Dasharath Gaikwad is an international cricketer who is playing for Maharastra team in domestic cricket and for Chennai super Kings in Indian premier League (IPL).His first International debut for Indian cricket team in July 2021 against Sri Lanka. He was Captain of the India Squad which won the Gold medal at 2022 Asian Games.He was the leading run scorer in the 2021 IPL season.He is captain of Maharashtra team in T20 and List A cricket.
Ruturaj’s father was a Defense Research Development organisation’s(DRDO) employee. He did his Primary schooling from St. joseph’s Boys high School.Pune He did college studies from Marathvada Mitra Mandal’s Polytechnic.
Gaikwad joined Dilip vengsarkar Academy in Pimpri Chanchwad Pune at the age of 13. He scored 63 (71) against Mumbai’s MIG cricket club for varroc Vengsarkar Academy, he got man of the match.His academy beat MIG cricket club by 7 wickets, Cadence cricket ground.
In 2015,at Maharashtra invitational tournament he scored 306 runs in a match in partnership of 522 runs with his teammate Vinay.
