Cricket South Africa (CSA) officially informed that South African players who are participating in Indian Premier League will return home by 26th May 2025. They will unable to participate in extended Indian Premier League 2025 schedule. Since eight South African players being named in the squad for the upcoming World Test Championship (WTC) final, which is scheduled for 11th June 2025 at Lord’s Cricket Ground, London.
CSA take solid stance for SA players
Proteas head coach Shukri Conrad while talking on this matter highlighted that CSA’s stance has not changed.”The original understanding with the BCCI and IPL was that players would return on May 26, giving them enough preparation time before our departure on May 30. That remains our position,” Conrad told on 13th May, and further discussions are being handled by Director of Cricket Enoch Nkwe and CSA CEO Pholetsi Moseki he added.

As we know Sunrisers Hyderabad team of IPL 2025 season already out of playoff contention with their final match set for 25th May – SRH players like Mulder are likely to return on time while Lucknow SuperGiants still in the race and their final match on 27 May so SA players who are playing for LSG team may impact their availability.
